Alejandra was a previous classmate of one of Rios' daughters.

Five days after raping and killing Alejandra Gutierrez, Simon Rios hit his wife Ana Casas, 28 with a pipe and then strangled her before he strangled his three daughters Liliana Rios-Casas, 10, Katherinne Rios, 4, and Thannya Rios, and 20 month olds Ana Casas.

Rios pleaded guilty in Delaware County, Indiana for the rape and slaying of Alejandra Gutierrez.

On Dec. 17, 2006, Delaware Circuit Court 1 Judge Marianne Vorhees sentenced Rios to life in prison for killing Gutierrez, along with an additional 100-year sentence for rape and child molesting convictions.
